A good friend told me about the annual Fiber Revival last year at another event, and said I needed to go. Plans were made, and early Saturday morning found me driving north to Newbury.
What I liked most about the event is that there are only a handful of vendors (all of whom I have come to know over the years), and it’s all about camaraderie amongest all the crafters. Spinning wheels galore, fiber, and just sitting and chatting with people make this worth it, especially on a beautiful day. Add the old time baseball game and the beer truck, and it’s almost heavenly.
Vendors this year included:
- Enchanted Knoll Farm
- Journey Wheel
- Leslie Wind
- Mad Color Fiber Arts
- Mulberry Marsh Designs
- Pinestar Studio
- Spunky Eclectic
- Stitched by Jessalu
- The Merlin Tree
- The Woolen Rabbit
- The Yarn and Fiber Company
Of course I hung out with my “other” mother Kathy (The Merlin Tree) and my friend Heather (Mad Color Fiber Arts)… whom I of course bought a couple of braids of fiber from. Doesn’t matter where I see her, I always claim I’m not buying fiber, and BOOM! Fiber in my bag. Also picked up a new bag from Jessalu… yep, Doctor Who. Don’t judge.

We even had a visit from a rooster… who decided that he liked people and wanted to preen and crow for us all. He didn’t move far from the spot he took up, and it seems he liked certain people, and thus he crowed more around them. He was a good sport though, staying put to let me take several pictures of him, and only getting flustered if someone moved suddenly.
Overall, it was a great day, and it made having to leave to go visit friends that much harder. I’m looking forward to going again next year!
